The social media word wheel used to build a gaming/racing wheel platform

Imagine being able to drive your car as we do in the real world. The following is a guide for building a steering word wheel that has not just a steering brake and gas pedal, but also a clutch, and yeah, a gearbox. The most essential tools, like a saw, screwdriver, and the like, shouldn’t cost you more than $10. It isn’t just cheap, but it is very similar to the gaming/racing wheel you buy for 100+ dollars. One major difference is that our gaming/racing wheel does not have force feedback. You do not have to worry about it unless you are an extremely serious gamer and can afford a Logitech G25 or something similar. Here are some highlights and features that your gaming/racing word wheel will have.

How the steering wheel is constructed:

A candle should be lit and the pipe heated from one end to the other. Heating the tube in increments will make it take the shape of a gaming/racing word wheel when it’s all heated and bent. Then heat one of the open ends of the pipe and press it against the other. The pipe will close into a wheel when the ends overlap. Wait until it cools. Then wash it and dry it. Glue the ends together with superglue to strengthen the bond. Place a plywood piece of 20cm length and 5cm width at the center of the wheel. Attach the plywood to the ends of the gaming/racing wheel by using M-seal or any other hard mass forming adhesive (used in plumbing).

The interior assembly of the wheel is as follows:

We need a few more parts to build the steering wheel’s internal assembly. We also need a pair of gear word wheel and a 10K potentiometer. This can be purchased at any electronic parts store. You can either get some gear wheels from old toys or purchase them. There should be at least four times as many gear wheels as there are teeth, and at the same time, their teeth should couple well. The metal pipe extends to about half of the interior boxes. Use adhesive to secure the plywood pieces to the box so that the pipe is firmly supported. For the potentiometer to be supported, the plywood needs to extend to the other end. At the end of the small metal pipe (which passes through the large metal pipe), the smaller gear wheel needs to be mounted. Making a thin but strong metal rod hot and piercing it through the gear wheels’ other ends can serve as a pivot. The pivot rod should extend through the other side of the box. Metal braces are required for mounting the potentiometer onto the plywood. The larger gear wheel must be glued to the handle of the potentiometer.

Construction of the pedals:

There are three pedals on the gaming/racing wheel. To make the base of the pedal, you’ll need a plywood piece 50cm by 30cm. To make the pedals, you need three pieces of plywood measuring 10cm by 10cm. Also, three 10K potentiometers, small hinges, and three 10cm long thin rectangular wooden bars are required. Mount the pedals using hinges on a plywood base piece. Attach a potentiometer to the hinge of each pedal so that when the hinge rotates, the potentiometer also rotates. The pedal should be attached to a rubber ball, which can provide spring action. Connect the potentiometer to the wires.

Momo Racing word wheel Top Gear:

We can’t even imagine how realistic games are today even a few years ago. These games may be very realistic, but they often fall short of their full potential because the gamer does not have the right controls to play them. Some racing enthusiasts are very frustrating to me when they race using a keyboard or joystick. As long as you can afford it, you simply have to have steering wheels, pedals, and gear shift levers on real cars. My experience with the Momo driving wheel: I tried a lot of different PC racing wheels over the years, but Momo was my number one pick when it came to buying it. It was not only because of its price but also because some of my friends already own it, so it was a straightforward and easy choice for me to make. Two years after I bought it, it is still in excellent condition. It actually looks just as it did when I bought it. It’s almost impossible to break these things down if you’re careful with them. I know this from experience.

Steering word wheel Interconnect:

The steering wheel we build is essentially a joystick, so it connects to the game port of your computer. The gameport is a 15-pin D connector located on the back side of your system (usually near the audio jacks). On my website, there is a detailed step-by-step tutorial to build the wheel that includes the pin diagram for the game port. There is a female game port connector present at the back of your CPU which you need to plug into the male connector (DB15 male) on my website (references section or authors details). A joystick interface (gameport) contains a few switches and axes and is a very simple interface to implement.
